Entry bridge in place, 3 homes under construction
The vision is taking shape at The Preserve at Grand Beach, Galveston Island’s first gated beachfront community of homes on the naturally expanding East Beach. The infrastructure is completed, three homes are under construction and the entry bridge has been built. Located on East Beach Drive, The Preserve at Grand Beach is a master-planned, boutique community of 52 beachside homesites.
Project Manager David Hoover said, “The arched steel bridge is the community’s grand entry. Existing wetland plants will be enhanced with other native plants and grasses for natural, lush landscaping at the bridge.”
The 30-foot-long, 24-foot-wide steel and concrete bridge was a feat of engineering. It is bolted to an underground foundation of concrete abutments, which are attached to eight 35-foot-tall concrete pilings driven completely into the ground.
In addition, all of the infrastructure is in place, including water, sewer, natural gas, streets and curbs. The first spec home is open for tours and available for purchase.
Located just minutes from downtown Galveston, The Preserve at Grand Beach offers a relaxed beach lifestyle and homesites from $125,000. To arrange a site tour, contact the sales center at 230 East Beach Drive, (409) 370-5678.
